My home is all decorated in the cottage farmhouse Christmas style with affordable and second hand finds. It is a beautiful way to decorate for the holiday season that is simple and still cozy.
Each year I decorate with items that I have collected over the years. From a $2 garland to a vintage $6 brass horn, the pieces I have for Christmas stay the same with just a few added new (used) pieces. I love my small cozy cottage home. Making it warm and cozy for the Holiday season is one of the best things.

Without further adieu, lets get into the tour.
Entry
My entry is a very small 4×4 space. Simple is key for keeping this space functional yet still decorated for Christmas.
My brass horn with velvet ribbon and faux greens added to the mirror is just the right touch, but not too much.
On the other side of the entry on my DIY coat rack is a greenery hanging with a brass bell and another velvet ribbon. The floor is graced with a small pine tree in a crock. Practical and yet cute.
Living Room
The cottage farmhouse feel continues into the living space. I keep the color palette very neutral, yet warm and inviting.
The focal point, of course, is the Christmas tree. It is set infront of our picture window, which I love seeing from outside in the evenings. Some wood bead garland, mini brass bells, white berries and velvet ribbons are all finds from Amazon, whether from years past or added this year. Every other piece on the tree is either a DIY or second hand.
The accordian rack between our door and picture window always hangs these two white stockings and the second hand pine garland.
This is our first Christmas without a television in our living room, which had been against the shiplap wall. The green side table has a thrifte lamp along with a simple DIY of vintage books, twine and greenery. A wooden tree completes the look on the table. The Nutcracker Merry Christmas pillow was found last year on clearance, but I know it can be found on Amazon.
Let’s not forget about my antique store find coffee table. Gracing this piece is simply a candle and my friends Christmas Planner that is used almost daily for me.
The old window the hangs on our shiplap wall has a garland that I turned into a wreath with the velvet ribbon and a bell.
The builts-ins have a very light and warm feel to them this Christmas. All the books and crocks are pretty much the same as are usually there. I added some candles, velvet ribbon, a bottle brush tree and some greens that I have had for many years. The cottage farmhouse Christmas does not have to be overdone, but just enough to make it beautiful.
Piano Room
This room is techniqually the dining room, however, we have used it for our piano and the private lessons I used to give for many years. One of the best ways to add Christmas to a home is with garland! The garland on top of the piano was a find last year on Amazon. Adding some thrifted brass candle sticks, books, a kerosene lamp and of course lights, makes the top of the piano just glowy.
The three metal baskets I have on the wall by the piano are kept simple, per usual for me. Nothing was new this year, just rearranged to make it a little bit different.
On the top of this vintage music stand that was my grandmothers is the coziest scene. Beautiful greens in a crock, another crock of unlit candles and a candle snuff. These all lead your eyes up to my favorite winter art scene, which was another thrifted find.
Kitchen
The cottage farmhouse Christmas kitchen is always done practically, yet with some fun touches. It cannot be too overdone as it needs to have function on the counters and the eat in table. Garland hangs between our living space as well as above our sliding glass doors with twinkle lights.
The accordian rack I have in the kitchen is right next to our espresso machine and vintage green stand. Candles, bells and greens were added for a Christmas touch, but the other pieces are practical.
The table and counters have a minimal feel to them, with just a little touch of greenery here and there. Candles are a must on the table and a pitcher of faux greens pull the tablescape together beautifully.
The Christmas Home
As you can see, I incorporate similar touches all throughout my home. Nothing has to be over the top, from a big box store or just like everyone elses. I love making my home showcase what I enjoy.
I hope for you this Christmas, that you can share your love of your home in the way you decorate. But most importantly, I hope that the love of Christ and His birth can be celebrated in your home.
Merry Christmas friends and God bless,
Davee
