Natural Beauty Products

November 7, 2024 by Davee Kilian 2 Comments

Natural beauty products have become part of my daily routine. These natural beauty items are quality and important in caring for our skin.

Just a couple years ago I realized I needed to take better care of my skin. I had been using the generic and cheap beauty products for my make-up, hair and body. My acne prone skin was not improving and my mind was not at ease with what products I was using. After doing some research I decided to invest in better and more natural beauty products.

Our skin is like a sponge, absorbing everything we put on it. Knowing that, I did not want all sorts of chemicals and other products that we would not even think of eating, enter my body. It took time for me to slowly rid my bathroom of harmful products to these high quality beauty products. So let me share many of my favorites that I currently use.

Natural Make -up

I began with slowly switching out my make-up first.

Organic Mascara

This mascara uses organic products that are clean and go on smooth.

Burts Bees Brow Pencil

In my younger days I overplucked my brows, as that was the trend. Now I need a little enhancement and I use this brow pencil. I appreciate that it uses is jojoba oil and shea butter to improve the lasting beauty.

Burts Bees Eyeliner

Another product that I can feel good about putting near my eyes. Nourishing with natural oils. Eyeliner is not one I use every day, but when I do, I love the natural look and feel of this make-up.

Toups and Co. Concealer

This concealer goes on so smooth. It is free of all the chemicals and fragrances, which this acne prone girl is so grateful for.

Skin Care

I have never been one to use multiple products for my nightly or morning skin care routine. When I was in college the harsh skin cleaners and acne regiments were part of my night routine. It never felt good having my face hurt after using these items. Now, I love the simplicity of my routine and products!

Toups and Co. Tallow Balm

I use this in the morning after I wash my face with water or any time I need a little more moisturizer on my face or body. It is a beautiful moisturizer, makes my face feel so hydrated and it uses the purest of ingredients. Simple and clean…can’t get better than that.

Toups and Co. Glow Serum

Being over 30 now, I felt like I needed to take better care of my aging skin. This is my only product I put on at night and when I wake up my face feels so refeshed, is glowing and has a nourished look.

Native Deoderant

Having a deoderant that I feel good about wearing and that works is a must. This deoderant is aluminum free, paraben free and made of natural ingredients. It holds up to the daily homemaking life and the morning workouts.

Bar Soap

I like to source most of my bar soaps from local farmers, however, I have found a couple different soaps online that I have found and enjoy. This Lemongrass soap is a beautiful scent and is handmade. Another one I have tried is Age of Sage variety pack.

Hair Care

Toups and Co. Dry Shampoo

I have tried many different dry shampoo products. Each one either left my scalp feeling itchy or very flaky. Not this toups and company dry shampoo. Again, this product does an amazing job and meets my clean and natural requirement.

Shampoo and Conditioner

I am one who rotates different types of natural shampoo and conditioner. The current set that we are using is Purezero. The tea tree in it is an ingredient that I need for a dryer scalp. Matcha helps rehydrate and increase the hair growth.

Some other natural shampoos that I have used that work well are; Avalon Organics Scalp Treatment, Clarifying Shampoo and Maple Holistics Shampoo.

Finding Natural Beauty Products

If you are not using natural beauty products already, I highly encourage you to make the switch. It does not have to be all at once, but the products that we put on our skin and in our hair are very important. Try a few of these products out for yourself and let me know what you think!

If you found this post helpful or use any of these products, I’d love to know in the comments.

I have a question, are the products that you are talking about work for African American skin?
