Timeless Christmas decor needs to stand the test of time. This decor can be used year after year, it can go along with any other Christmas piece and best of all, it is affordable. Whether found at an antique store, thrift store or on Amazon, these timeless christmas pieces are long lasting and beautiful additions.
Christmas decor can be rather interesting when we think about it. There are so many different styles of decor, things to put out and time spent in decorating. For how short of a season it is, it truly is amazing we spend so much time and money on decorating. I am as much at fault as many others in spending more than I should and taking much time to decorate. Over the past several years, however, I have tried to find pieces that I love and that will be used year after year.
Some of these items I have found are new to me this year. You can see my latest “Thrift-mas” shopping trip and haul on my Youtube channel. There are so many unique pieces to be found when second hand shopping.
I’ve also found some really good deals on Amazon for decor that I have used year after year.
Let’s get into what timeless Christmas decor I am using in my home.
Second hand Christmas Decor
I love that timeless Christmas decor can be found so affordably! That is what I find so fun about getting thrifted decor. It’s like going on a treasure hunt in search of just the right item to fit the home. It’s always fun to decorate for the Christmas season, but I find it even more enjoyable knowing my decor was budget-friendly and timeless.
Greenery
Many of the smaller pieces of greenery stems and branches are from thrift stores. If they are in good shape when I see them at a second hand shop, I will often purchase them.
My favorite greenery is the one that I hang on my accordian rack with my white stockings. Probably the best $2 find for Christmas decor.
Crocks
These are not only items that work well for Christmas, but year round! my crocks have been collected over many years of going to garage sales, thrift stores and antique shops. They are used for some of my faux greens and beeswax candles.
Candle sticks
Again, another item that can be used more than just at Christmastime. I probably own 10-15 different styles of candle holders. My favorite ones to use, especially for Christmas decor, are the taller brass candle sticks. They add a beautiful warm tone to the home and they are very practical as well.
Musical instrument ornaments
Christmas is a time of singing and playing beautiful Christmas carols and songs. Having decorative instruments to add to the home as decor just seems to fit the season. The two brass horns I have are different sizes, but fun pieces to scatter throughout my decor. $6 for the larger one at an antique shop and a mere .75 cents for the smaller one.
Winter gear
Ice skates, scarves, mittens and other winter outdoor gear can make timeless Christmas decor. This pair of ice skates hanging over my thrifted sled will not only last for Christmas, but all through the winter.

White Knit Stockings
These knit stockings have been part of my decor for many years. The simpicity of them allows for use in different places and with other added pieces. Mine are no longer available but the ones I am sharing are very similar.
Bottle brush trees
Bottle brush trees have been in my Christmas decor ever since the idea came about years ago. I stuck with the neutral flocked trees that way I can use them year after year. They are just the perfect little addition to scatter here and there in the home.
Beeswax candles
This decor piece is not exactly “Christmas” decor. Beeswax candles, however, do add such a cozy and warm vibe to any home decor. Having several candles in a crock or having different candles scattered throughout the home creates a lovely Christmas feel.
Cow bells
Cow bells for Christmas decor!? Yes, cow bells can also add charm for Christmas. Use them in the middle of a wreath, sitting on a shelf or hung in a cluster. Timeless, unique and still lovely.
Velvet ribbon
Velvet ribbon has been around in Christmas decor for years. Tying it to the branches of the Christmas tree, wrapping it around a crock or hanging it in the middle of a wreath are simple and affordable ways to use velvet ribbon. This year I went with a brown and tan tone, but reds, golds, blues and greens, could be beautiful for Christmas.
Friends, I hope you can find some affordable and timeless decor for your Christmas home this year and for many years after.
