This is Summer rummage and antique haul that is filled with beautiful vintage finds and affordable decor for the home. Rummage and antique decor is the way to save money and to create a collected and currated look.

Summer time is a great time to find very affordable pieces for the home. Rummage sales are all the rage and tend to be more budget-friendly for the buyer. If I see a garage sale sign and I have a little extra time, then I will never pass up an opportunity to stop and browse a sale. Let’s get started then in what I found at a past city wide rummage and a recent antique trip. If you ar more into new items instead of used, you can find home decor items on my Amazon Storefront.
Watch my entire rummage and antiquing haul! I found all the items from kids clothes, jewelry and of course vintage home decor!
Rummage Sale Finds ~ Rummage & Antique
Baskets
If you do not know yet, you should, I will always look at and most likely pick up baskets when out rummaging. This double lidded large basket was only $5! I am so excited to use it to replace a breaking basket that houses books or kids toys.

These clothe baskets were part of a church rummage where a free will donation was requested. The two gold baskets are already being put to use in my closet to store clothing. The cute blue basket will be a nice touch to the kids room on the dresser.

Wicker picnic baskets tend to be hard to find for a decent price. This very sturdy basket was seriously only $2!! There was no way I would pass that opportunity. I use these style of baskets for corraling smaller kids toys, like cars, puzzles or legos. It’s a cute and practical way to store/hide kids things.
Vintage Jars
At rummage sales when there are vintage blue jars for only $1 each, then I will purchase those. They are beautiful to store dried fruit, nuts or even to put fresh cut flowers in.

Containers
I must have been in the mood to find more vintage stone mixing bowls. The larger yellow bowl was $12. It has a cute image of a girl watering flowers. The size was also great for what I needed.
The second bowl was $6 at a local antique store. The brown and cream color will be lovely with some fruit in it for the Fall season or even for practical purposes of mixing up a recipe on a day to day.

This blue and gray crock was a steal of only .99! Crocks are a part of my home decor that I really enjoy, so this was a piece that could not be passed up.
Kids Room Decor
There are a few antique store finds that will be a nice addition to my kids’ shared bedroom. Our three kids all share one room, so I am looking for a mix of vintage decor to add.
The artwork with the girl and the geese reminded me so much of my oldest daughter. The canvas painting has a beautiful frame that I enjoy. It was $14, which is more than I usually prefer to pay, but I know it will be a lovely addition to the bedroom.

The $8 wheeled little wooden horse was one my two year old son saw and enjoyed rolling around at the antique store. I knew it would add a more “boyish” feel to the shared room. Putting it on a little shelf next to some other pieces will be such a sweet look.
Tips for successful Summer Rummage
Since It was a smaller haul, I thought I might share a few tips on finding good deals when out rummaging.
- Stop often. Like I mentioned at the beginning, stopping at different rummages will help you find more pieces that you are looking for.
- Bargain. If an item seems to high priced, do not be afraid to offer a lower amount. Do not be stingy, but make a fair offer and be okay with them saying no.
- Do not buy just to buy. Even if you find a good deal, it does not mean you have to buy it. Find items you love and will enjoy having in your home.
- Browse the junk. Sometimes there are rummages that just have boxes filled with what looks like junk. Be okay with digging through some of those boxes as you never know what treasures can be found.
