This summer rummage haul is a fun one with some unique modern and vintage finds. They blend nicely to create a curated look that will go nicely in my home.
I love the summer for gardening, going to the lake, the warmer weather and of course the rummage sales. If there is a sale sign along the road, you bet that I will try to stop. You never know when a hidden treasure can be found.
These pieces that I am sharing in this summer rummage haul are little treasures that I am excited to share. Choosing items that are useful, unique, affordable and pleasing to the eye is what I look for in a piece that comes into my home.
Two unique candle holders are coming into my home in this summer rummage haul. I love looking for any piece that holds a candle. I burn candles often in the colder months and even some in the warmer months too.
This wall votive candle holder will find a spot somewhere. It was too pretty and unique to pass up, especially since it was FREE! The pottery style tapered candle holder was instantly picked up when I saw it. I only paid $2 for it a thrift store. I’m sure you will be seeing this one often in my Youtube videos when I’m burning more candles in Fall.
Several more items I found for this summer rummage haul are vessels to put cut flowers in, pot plants or just to display. Each piece is so different from the other one. A $1 pottery style vase that is Target brand will be well used just as much as the blue oil jar that was another free find. For me it’s about blending items I love, whether newer or older, to create a uniquely curated space that is “me”.
There is nothing better than finding good second hand baskets. My home is filled with a collection of all styles, colors, sizes and textures. This one I found is a cute round basket with a lid. It was $3.50, but it will be so adorable with little toys stored in it or kitchen items on the counter.
The enamelware bowls were a score. I got 5 for $2! Yes, there are only 3 pictured as my kids are using the others to play with in their outdoor kitchen space. I store our keys in one by our back entry and the others do not have a place yet, but I’m sure they will eventually.
Throws and pillow are often skipped when it comes to buying second hand. Some people do not realize how simple it is to clean them up and use in our own homes. I simply throw the pillow or blanket in the wash and let it air dry. This small pillow is a beautiful accent on our bed. It blends well with our green board and batten wall that we DIYed last year.
My favorite piece that was a steal for only $2 is this little wooden bench. It is so darling and is really quite sturdy. Again, this does not have a solid place where it lives yet, but I can see it being used in a little corner of my home or even as an outdoor kids bench. However it is used, I am so happy to have found this sweet little bench.
Well friends, that is my summer rummage haul for you. If you want to see some of the recent clothing that I picked up over the summer, head over to my Youtube channel for that.
Enjoy the rest of the Summer and all the Summer Rummaging that you can get!
Love,
Davee
