Summer home decor can be done very affordable, simply and with some Americana touches for the season. Bring the outside in, add an easy DIY and we’ve got our Summer home.

This season is a time to keep the inside of the home simple as we are outside often and are soaking up the beautiful Summer weather. The home still needs to have some Summer touches, so let’s make it simple and frugal for the season.
Entry/Living Area
If you have followed me for awhile then you know our entry way is very small. A chair and a crock with some faux eucalyptus stems and two American flags (found very affordable as a pack of 12 fo $4 on Amazon) sit below our handmade coat rack.

The living room has a mix of fresh cut flowers and some patriotic decor. On the green side table the crock is filled with whatever cut flowers my cottage gardens contain. It is ever changing in the garden so each week brings new flowers to bring into the home! In the gold frame, a patriotic piece of old hymn music was placed inside.

On the couch, the vintage block print pillows that were used for my Spring decor still tie in with my Summer flowers and patriotic theme.
The red, white and blue decor comes in throughout the home with some vintage patriotic quilting fabric that was cut and DIYed. Several strips of fabric tied around a strand of jute twine created a banner of sorts. The DIY gives that vintage feel that matches the home aesthetic and is very affordable. Bonus – it is an easy and pretty quick craft to do with kids!

Adding touches of flowers with the books on the built-ins gives it a peaceful feel. The twine banner is also added to my wood beads that grace the top shelf.
The coffee table cannot be forgotten. Very simply adding a pitcher with some cut flowers and a thrifted garden book gives the space a Summer vibe.

Piano Corner ~ Summer home
Another mini American flag found it’s way into a crock of faux babies breath on top of the piano.

On the wire shelves the decor stayed pretty similar as in the Springtime, however, some more patriotic touches create a fun vintage “America” feel.

Kitchen ~ Summer home
The kitchen Summer decor is kept very minimal yet still lovely. Cut flowers on the table, resting on the counter and on my coffee station, really brings life to the kitchen.

A fresh baked loaf of The best sourdough discard blueberry bread rests on the counter waiting to be eaten.

A few more American decor touches find homes in little spots in the kitchen – tucked in a basket of flowers, wrapped around a copper tea kettle and laced around a cutting board.
