Frugal Spring decor can be accoplished with simplicity and timeless pieces. Adding Spring decor to a home is easy with these affordable pieces that I share for the season.

Springtime! The trees are budding, tulips are popping out of the ground and the home is in need of some new life…badly. But how do we accoplish that without breaking the bank? The easiest answer is to keep decor simple, affordable and use what is around us.
Our home is small so I do like to keep my home decor simple, cohesive and timeless. Plus, we have a house of four kids, so keeping Spring decor affordable just makes sense.
Let’s get to it then with our frugal Spring decor.
What to use for frugal Spring decor
Many of these pieces that can be used for Spring decor can also be used for any season. That’s a bonus as well in keeping within a budget for all decor!
I have found so many of these items over the past years at rummage sales or thrift stores. These places are so great to find decor because it keeps everything affordable.
- crocks & pitchers/vases
- artwork
- baskets
- linens & pillow covers
- faux flowers
- fresh flowers & stems
- plates & platters
- food
Crocks & pitchers
Crocks and pitchers are beautiful vintage/farmhouse style pieces that are great to use to hold those faux flowers, beautiful stems or even just to sit empty on a shelf. The majority of mine are from garage sales that I’ve collected over many years.

Mine all vary in size and shape and of course price. The most expensive one that I use inside the home was $11 and my cheapest was FREE! I’ve added some faux tulip stems to some crocks on my built-ins, on my piano and on side table. The cream pitchers I use look lovely on my kitchen counter with tulips or hanging on my kitchen accordian rack.
Artwork as frugal Spring decor
Spring decor that can easily be swapped out is done well with artwork. Find some pieces or prints that you love and change them out for each season.

I recently found a few lovely prints, one of a field and one of a cottage garden, on Etsy that I put into some free frames. It was an immediate Spring uplift to my living space and done very affordably.
Baskets
Baskets are probably my favorite pieces to use for home decor. They can be used as aesthetic storage containers or simply as a way to hold faux flowers. I’ve shared how to use Thrifted Baskets in a home, which you can read more on. For Spring this year however, I have used a few hanging baskets to hold the faux tulips that I enjoy.

Linens & pillow covers
Pillow covers are a must in my home for seasonal decor. This is my second year using these vintage block print pillow covers in my home. They are affordable and an easy way to make my living space feel Spring like and timeless.

Linens in the kitchen can be a fun way to say Spring. I few Spring inspired tea towels are all that are needed for hanging on a rod or stove handle. The ones I use were actually gifted, but I’ve found some lovely ones from thrift stores or a local antique shop.
Faux flowers
With Spring comes flowers. In our area however, tulips and daffodils do not come up until late April. Instead of using fresh flowers for the earlier Spring months, I have found these real looking tulips from Amazon that I just love. They fill different crocks, pitchers and baskets (that I mentioned earlier), creating a Springlike home.
Fresh flowers & stems
Fresh flowers are ideal for decorating for Spring when the season allows. In later Spring bring in tulips, daffodils and hyacinth to the home. These flowers are ones I grow in my own garden, so they are a frugal way to bring Spring into the home.
Stems can be cut anytime to add to a pitcher, jar or vase. Some of the trees that are blooming or budding look lovely in the home for Spring.
Plates & platters
Vintage or floral trimmed plates and platters are beautiful for hanging on walls, leaning against a built-in or using as a soap dish. Many that I’ve found are again thrifted or rummage sale finds.
Food
Fresh produce, eggs, muffins, scones, cookies etc., these are such practical ways to decorate a kitchen space. Set out some of those unwashed farm fresh eggs in a cute container or plate up some muffins and add a cloche over it for realistic and useful decor.

The ideas are endless for affordable Spring decor. Budget-friendly and frugal is worth the timeless look that these pieces will bring to a Spring home.
