This taco skillet bake takes less than 30 minutes to complete. It has simple ingredients that come together to make a delicous dish. The taco skillet bake is a one pan meal that is great for a busy weeknight dinner or for the weekly Mexican night.
My family enjoys a good taco night. We eat Mexican style food once a week and this taco skillet bake fits into the meal rotation often. It’s got many of the ingredients that make up a taco, but all in one! If your family is like ours then I think you’ll want to make this skillet meal a regular. Another added bonus is that it is a one pan meal.
Tips for making the skillet bake
~ I like using home canned tomatoes instead of store bought.
~ Use fresh garden tomatoes when they are in season. If using fresh tomatoes it will require longer cooking time.
~ Use any tortilla you like. I have tried it with store bought flour, corn tortillas and raw tortillas.
~ Increase or decrease the spice level with mild, medium or hot salsa.
~ Brown the hamburger ahead of time to make prep work even faster.
