Decorating the kitchen for Christmas can be done with simple touches. Tour my cottage farmhouse kitchen decorated with pine sprigs, candles and ribbon.

If you saw my kitchen for the other seasons, then you know I like to keep the decor simple yet cozy. Adding just the right amount for each season, yet making it beautiful is what works for my well used kitchen.

This year for my home, I went with a bells, ribbons and candles theme along with plenty of greenery and garland. You can see my home tour here if you want more Christmas decorating inspiration.
The kitchen is an active place in my home. I cook three meals a day in it. We eat at the table, homeschool and craft at it too. With that said, the Christmas kitchen needs to be cute and charming, yet functional.
Christmas Kitchen ~ Greenery
For starters I love adding pine and greenery wherever possible! Faux evergreen sprigs fill a pitcher on my shelving, by my kinife block or by my vintage scale.

The greenery also makes a backdrop for my fruit bowl, in my white knit stockings by our fridge or as a centerpiece on our eat in table. It proudly hangs above my sliding glass doors adorned with lights that adds a wonderful glow at night!
Christmas Kitchen ~ Candles
There is nothing better than an added touch of candles! This is a must in the season of shorter daylight hours. The ambience and glow they provide is cozy and practical. I get my tapered beeswax candles from Amazon, but you can make them or get any other candle you enjoy.

My accordian hanging rack near the espresso machine is a fun place to decorate for each season. I kept it practical yet in the line of my theme as well. A ginger bread apron hangs next to some candles and some faux greenery with a bell and ribbon. Very simple, yet charming in many ways.

Christmas Kitchen ~ Ribbons & Bells
A couple ribbons are scattered in the decor, making a little statement here and there. A few bottle brush trees add just the right touch of Christmas near a few vintage pieces.

Finally, the part of my kitchen that is always consistent is a baked item. Today happened to be bread baking day when I photographed my kitchen. Other days its, cookies, pie, muffins or a hot soup on the stove.

Christmas Kitchen ~ Love
I think that is what really makes a kitchen decked out for Christmas – all the baking! It brings the space a true warmth with knowing we are loving and caring for our family and those around us with the foods we make.
So with that my friends, I will say goodbye and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
From my Christmas Kitchen to yours,
Love,
Davee
