This easy eggnog will become a tradition to make for every Christmas. Homemade eggnog takes less than 5 minutes to make with only four simple ingredients of eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla!

Holiday time is such a special time to enjoy fun foods and beverages. In my family growing up we had a tradition on Christmas Eve of performing in our church Christmas pageant, driving around to look at lights and coming home to enjoy a glass of homemade eggnog. For me, eggnog brings back those core memories, but it also is a super fun drink to make from scratch! My mother has shared this recipe with me and I am sharing with you all to enjoy and create memories around.
TIPS ON MAKING EASY HOMEMADE EGGNOG
- Use whole milk or even heavy cream. For a richer and fuller flavor I highly encourage this. Lower fat milks will work, however, they will lack in that delicious and creamy texture.
- You do not need to temper the eggs. Raw eggs are how this recipe is originally made. I’ve never gotten sick in my many many years of drinking it as a child into adult years.
- Make sure to mix the sugar in well as it tends to settle.
- This recipe works with refined sugar or cane sugar. I have not tested it with any other sweetener options.
- Stir the eggnog in the fridge when chilling to keep ingredients mixed. Stir or shake well before serving.
- My favorite addition is a dash of nutmeg on top before drinking.
