A cozy & simple Christmas home is where beauty and simplicity meet. Creating a cozy and simple Christmas home is done with decor that is already had and basic pieces that work together.

Welcome to my simple home for Christmas! This year the decor is extremely affordable as it is basically done the same as last year. I think there is something to be said about creating a consistent home with routine decor each Chrsitmas season. There is nothing wrong with using the same pieces over and over and making a space lovely.

LIVING SPACE ~ COZY SIMPLE CHRISTMAS HOME
In the living area the tree is the focal point. Since our home is only 950 square foot, the tree is a beautiful slim tree that fits nicely in my space. Centering the tree in front of our bay window is a lovely way to share the glow of the lights with those who pass by. The tree is has simply done with gold ornaments (that were thrifted), mini gold bells, wood bead garland, white berries, neutral ribbon and a DIY hymn garland. Remember, the decor is very similar as last year, so if you thought the tree looked like this last year then you are correct.

For the rest of the living space there are touches of faux greens. They are scattered on the built-in, on the decorative window, hanging on my accordian rack and tucked into books. Candles also grace the space, whether lit or standing in a crock waiting to be used. Brown and tan ribbons add an elegant touch to the decor. It is incredible how simple velvet ribbons can be so timeless and classic for Christmas.

MUSIC AREA/OTHER SIDE OF LIVING SPACE
Having the main areas of the home relatively cohesive with color and style is a nice way for my home to feel cozy and connected. On the piano is a new Nativity set that was gifted to me by my mother last Christmas. A beautiful gift that will always have a place to be displayed in our home. Brass candle holders and a kerosene lamp grace either side of the piano, both waiting expectantly to be lit on a cold winter night.

Garlands swag over the walkway and on top of the piano, to give a simple Christmas touch. Vintage looking gold bells match the hints of gold that I have used for the Christmas season.

Lights are a must in creating a Christmas home. When the evenings are dark so early, the glow that a string of lights can add is incredible. They make the darker days all the more enjoyable.

On the other side of the piano is this corner where a beautiful winter painting gets a place on the wall with a couple crocks holding candles and greens resting on top of the music stand.
KITCHEN ~ COZY SIMPLE CHRISTMAS HOME
The kitchen for Christmas is my favorite. Add simple little touches here and there makes the heart of the home so inviting. There are faux greens in vintage pitchers on the table and some shelves, candles lit and ribbons tied on sconces. Each simple Christmas decor piece is not over the top, but pulls in the theme of my home.

The coffee station corner has candles hanging as they will be used throughout the darker days. A thrifted Advent calendar hangs on the door ready for the kids to enjoy.

Cookies, cookboooks and coffee are a must for the holiday season. My Chewy Ginger Molasses cookies rest cooling on the counter, ready for sharing or just enjoying! On the other side of the sink, one of my favorite butterscotch cookie recipes, found in this Christmas Gooseberry Patch book, lies open.

Some faux greenery and ribbon is as simple a touch as the sconces need for Christmas. A thrifted green checkered kitchen towel on my stove handle and a vanilla scented candle on top, give this modern appliance a warmer feel.
Simple is so important for our home decor with having four little kids. The best part about creating a cozy Christmas home is sharing it with others.

I hope you have a blesssed Christmas season. Enjoy the time you share with friends and family and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
Blessings,
Davee
