When the “Ber” months come around I tend to want to bake all the pumpkin, squash and apple recipes. Some of my favorites are my Rustic Apple Crisp, The Best Classic Pumpkin Bars and Best Sourdough Discard Applesauce Bread. This lovely bread has got to be one of my favorites as it is extremely moist and flavorful in every bite. Nothing beats an easy quick bread that the entire family (and friends) love.
Tips on making my Favorite Pumpkin Bread
- Use fresh or canned pumpkin. Both work just fine in this recipe and it was tested with both. Fresh pumpkin can tend to have a little more moisture squeeze some of the liquid off before using.
- Make sure to add the secret ingredient – Applesauce. Applesauce is a key ingredient to making this bread so moist. Other recipes I’ve seen call for milk, juice or too much oil. I like that applesauce is a bit healthier and adds a subtle flavor to the bread, especially if you use my Slow Cooker Cinnamon Applesauce recipe.
- Add an addition with chocolate chips or chopped nuts. Enhance the pumpkin bread with an add-in to create another level to this already delicious bread.
